The Engin and Agnès Artemel Urban Planning Scholarship
Engin and Agnès Artemel have contributed decades of urban planning effort and experience to make Alexandria grow and thrive. The EP honors their work through a recurring scholarship for students interested in urban planning and design.
We operate the scholarship through the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria (SFA), who selects a recipient and awards funding. In addition to the usual SFA criteria, recipients must:
- Be a college bound senior, or a recent graduate of an Alexandria City Public School,
- Possess a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or above,
- Expect to major in architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, urban
- planning, real estate, building construction, geography, or related fields; and,
- Have demonstrated commitment to their community by volunteering to make Alexandria a better place for people to live, work, and nurture families.
The scholarship will continue Agnès and Engin’s legacy by helping the planners of the future build a more vibrant, walkable, and equitable Alexandria.
