VDOT/City of Alexandria Pedestrian/Bike Safety Study

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the City of Alexandria have been studying opportunities to increase pedestrian and bicycle safety along Eisenhower Avenue.  The Eisenhower Partnership (EP) has provided input and feedback for the plan.  The EP has advocated for adding an street shared use path along Eisenhower Avenue near Van Dorn Avenue.  Additionally, the EP has asked for traffic calming measures along Eisenhower Avenue to control traffic, reduce speed and increase pedestrian and bicycle safety.  The EP has been a supporter of the Carlyle Council’s Annual Bike to Work Day.
